About the Project

Shoprite Manhiça is located in the District of Manhiça, around 80Km from Maputo City.

This Shopping Complex was constructed on a piece of land that was used for the local market totalling 5000 m². To allow for construction, over 4700 m³ had been cut and spoil from site and was then prepared for construction by importing and compaction of over 5500 m³ of red soil.

As a small district, Manhiça had no previous shopping centers. This Complex brought about added value and a positive impact to the District of Manhiça, residents can now shop for foods, beverages, clothing and furniture all at one Complex.

The Complex was completed in 7 months, from breaking ground to handing over to the client. We are proud to say that there was no incident or injury reported during this period.

About the Team

Our well know client, Advent Mozambique, contracted Obra Prima to be resposible for the entire Project. The only outside subcontractor that was brought in by Obra Prima was a Maputo based electrical company.

For this Project, only skilled labor needed was brought in from Maputo, and in total, an average of 65 locally employed people were involved in this Project.

As well as the labor force, all machinery and transport for this Project was hired from the local companies, this uplifting the local community.
